Murmansk Airport (IATA: MMK, ICAO: ULMM) is the international airport of Murmansk, Russia. It is located near the town of Murmashi in Murmansk's southern suburbs, 24 kilometres (15 mi) outside the city centre.

The airport served 276,599 passengers in 2006. It had its peak in 2004, when it received 303,432 passengers, which at that time included international routes to Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Khrabrovo Airport (Russian Аэропорт Храброво) (IATA: KGD, ICAO: UMKK) is the airport of Kaliningrad, located 24 kilometers (15 mi) north of the city near the village of Khrabrovo. While it mostly serves scheduled domestic destinations, part of it is still a military base of the Russian Air Force.

History

1922 - Joint Russian-German joint venture Deruluft starts flights on first scheduled international route, from Königsberg (Devau airport) - Moscow
1945 - Airport is transferred to Civil Air Fleet of USSR
1961 - Joint Air Squadron formed at the basis of airport and airline
1977 - Operations of Tupolev-134 begin
1979 - Passenger terminal is built in Khrabrovo
1988 - Tupolev-154s begin operations to Kaliningrad
1992 - Enterprise separates from Vnukovo Production association and becomes independent entity
1993 - First scheduled international flights begin. Two Tupolev-154s are purchased
1997 - Air enterprise is renamed “Kaliningrad Avia”
2001 - Air enterprise is in receivership
2002 - Change of ownership structure. Transformation into Joint Stock Company
2004 – Beginning of reconstruction of runway, apron, navigation equipment
2005 – Air enterprise renamed “KD Avia”
2007 - opening of the new terminal
2009 - "KD Avia" airlines cease operations

Besovec, Petrozavodsk

Petrozavodsk Airport (Russian: Аэропорт Петрозаводск, Karelian: Petroskoin lendoazema; (IATA: PES, ICAO: ULPB); ex: Besovets, Petrozavodsk-2) is a joint civil-military airport in Russia located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northwest of Petrozavodsk in Besovets, Shuya Rural Settlement (municipality). It services small airliners. It is a minor airfield with 12 parking stands and a small amount of tarmac space.

The airfield has seen military use as an interceptor base. During the 1960s or 1970s Sukhoi Su-15 aircraft were based at Besovets. During the 1970s it was home to the 991st Fighter Aviation Regiment (991 IAP), which flew Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 'Foxbat' aircraft. In 1992-93, the 159th Fighter Aviation Regiment (159 IAP) transferred in from Poland, having left the 4th Air Army. It flies the Sukhoi Su-27 aircraft and is now part of the 54th Air Defence Corps, 6th Air and Air Defence Forces Army.

Talagi Airport (IATA: ARH, ICAO: ULAA) is an international airport serving Arkhangelsk, Russia, located 11 kilometers outside the city. In 2001 it had 105,797 passengers and 921 tonnes of cargo. The airport was founded on February 5, 1963. It had an operational peak in 1990 with 952,457 passengers.

Talagi Airport serves as an airline hub for Smartavia.

The name Talagi originates in two khutors and small village located in Solombalsky Volost, Arkhangelsk Uyezd, Arkhangelsk Governorate.

Talagi Airport was originally built in the summer of 1942 under the supervision of the State Defense Committee representative Ivan Papanin as a military base with a gravel runway.

The Soviet Air Defence Forces (PVO) had a presence at this airfield with 518th Fighter Aviation Regiment (Military Unit Number 42192), 518 IAP) flying Tupolev Tu-128 from 1966 onward.

It received MiG-31 aircraft during the 1980s. The controlling formation was the 23rd Air Defence Corps, then redesignated the 22nd Air Defence Corps in 1993, then 22nd AD Division from 1994, all under 10th Air Defence Army until 1994, and then 6th Air Defence Army. The regiment was disbanded in 1998.
