In June 2002, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Elbrus-Avia was established. On May 14, 2013, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Elbrus-Avia ceased its business activities. Since May 15, 2013, the main operator of Nalchik International Airport is Aerocomplex LLC. The airline has a valid certificate No. 056 AM for the Nalchik aerodrome (issued by the Interstate Aviation Committee), certifying that the aerodrome complies with certification requirements and is suitable for international flights. Today, Nalchik International Airport receives and services the YAK-40, YAK-42, AN-24, AN-26, AN-12, IL-18, TU-134, CRJ 100-200, B 737-300, B 737-400 aircraft , B 737-500, B 737-700, B 737-800, A-319, A-320, SSJ-100 and helicopters of all types.

In 2016, the services of Nalchik International Airport were used by 195,230 passengers, while in 2015 - 105,523 passengers. The growth in passenger traffic amounted to more than 85%.
During the year, 164,880 people were transported on domestic flights and 29,492 passengers were serviced abroad.
The terminal has a VIP-lounge and a hall for servicing official delegations.
